Solution—
The 4x4m cube was designed to be a modular structure, allowing for seamless integration of the lighting fixtures and mirror sphere.
696x Vectrpix vLinear Creator form a double-sided volumetric grid around the large mirrored sphere, and are intricately programmed by REELIZE.STUDIO to a synchronised soundtrack. The high-resolution linear fixtures at 100 pixels per metre were supplied in a custom 600mm length to suit installation parameters, finished in a slimline black housing with matching diffusion lens.
Driving the total system of 41,760 individually programmable RGB LEDs are our bespoke Vectrpix vDrive 600 24V pixel drivers, each capable of driving 48 fixtures at above 40fps — critical to playback of the highly dynamic content. The system operated without fault for the duration of the installation, despite testing environmental conditions.
